Portsmouth-Liverpool Odds and Preview
Portsmouth v Liverpool
Saturday, December 19th
Sports Betting Odds: Liverpool -165, Portsmouth +475
Sportsbook Draw: +265
It can’t get much worse for Portsmouth who is at the bottom of the Premier League table. After 17 games, Portsmouth has just three wins and 11 points. If this keeps up, they’ll be headed for relegation and when you do the math, they’ll have to leap frog West Ham United (14 points), Wolverhampton (16) and Bolton (16) to get out of the danger zone.
It won’t be so easy to gain any ground this Saturday as sports wagering cappers will see Portsmouth take on Liverpool. But a win would get Pompey out of dead last and move them up to 19th.
Portsmouth lost their midweek contest against Chelsea 2-1 on Wednesday as a goal by Frank Lampard was the difference maker. More than 40,000 fans watched Lampard give Chelsea the lead permanently with a second half penalty, scoring from the spot in the 78th minute to give his team the win.
Chelsea is the top team in the table and a loss to Portsmouth would have been embarrassing. At the same time, such a tight loss does inspire Pompey.
To be frank, Portsmouth has been brutal this year but they have won two of their last three home contests, which should give them some confidence going up against Rafa Benitez’s squad.
Liverpool is feeling a bit down this year as their title hopes have all but disappeared. Although they are only sixth in the standings, they are 13 points behind Chelsea, which means closing that gap and leapfrogging a number of other teams in the standings is unlikely.
The Reds are coming of a win of their own midweek with a 2-1 win over Wigan, where Fernando Torres scored the winning goal. Torres has had success at Fratton Park in the past with three goals in his last two games, so expect him to a focal point.
The Reds have one just once in their last five Premier League fixtures away from home, so this won’t be a walk in the park. Both teams have no serious injury concerns heading into this contest, so it should be a rather even game.
Take a look at the draw at +265. While Portsmouth is the worst team in the EPL, they have played well recently – and well at home. This should be an even tilt.

SS Lazio Roma – Genoa CFC draw/away – 1,61
PICK LOST
Lazio this season is not good, they are near relegation zone and im sure they wont go any far from that place. Genoa on other side of a table, fighting for Europe and playing a decent soccer. At Lazio stadium last year play 2 times and both times they manage to get points. On road Genoa manage to win 31% of games and draw 27%, Lazio lose at home 18% but draw 28%. Lazio is in bad form with 3 draws and only 3 points in last 9 games. Genoa form is better with 2 wins and 2 draws in last 5. There are some key injuries in Lazio team which only give boost to this pick.

Catania – Livorno Under 2,5 – 1.58
PICK WON
Bottom battle between Catania and Livorno, who wins will get 6 points in this relegation battle. So this will be hard match with lots of fouls and very few goals. Catania knows how to defend and at home they have 61% under, as well Livorno on road is playing some defensive soccer with 55% under. Recent form indicate that Catania at home rarely get slaughtered by many goals. As well Livorno on road don’t score so many goals, there are many injured players for both teams so i guess this game will not be fancy at all.
