Wigan v Bolton

Wednesday, February 17th

BetEd Odds (BetEd Reviews): Wigan +130, Bolton +250

Internet Sports Betting Odds Draw: +240

Wigan Athletic and Dave Whelan Stadium are set to welcome the Bolton Wanderers for an EPL football match on Wednesday. It hasn’t been a pretty season for either side as the Wanderers are in the red and could find themselves a league lower if they don’t shape up quickly while Wigan isn’t exactly in much better shape.

Bolton has just 22 points in 24 games played while Wigan has garnered 24 in 24 games.

While neither of these teams are playing for a championship, they are both playing to avoid relegation and there is plenty of importance on the line. Bolton, with a win, could leap frog Wigan and really turn the heat up for them but if Wigan can win, they can separate themselves from the pack a little bit and keep Bolton right where they are.

Bolton has been pathetic all season long and to expect them to win on the road is unlikely. At best, they are probably looking at a draw. As a matter of fact, a draw looks like a pretty good bet overall.

Between the two teams, they have 13 draws on the year. More importantly, the two teams have scored just two goals combined in their last three Premier League meetings.

Bolton has had plenty of scoring dysfunction of their own as they have just 29 on the year. Recently, they’ve been even worse as they have failed to score in any of their last three Premier League games and have won just once in their last eight games.

Wigan has had a tough time winning games of late, which further pushes this pick to a draw. Wigan Athletic has just one league win since the end of November

Both teams are struggling and both teams typically struggle to score goals. On top of that, both teams don’t want to give up any ground in the table, so they may play this one a little closer to the vest usual.

While the payout for a tie isn’t great, the play has to be either a tie or a Wigan win. Wigan hasn’t done much winning in the last three months so we’ll pass on that.

Sports Betting Pick: Draw +240

PostHeaderIcon Atletico Madrid v FC Barcelona over 2.5 – 1.50

Atletico Madrid

PICK WON

Barcelona when visiting Atletico Madrid always have hard game with lots of goals. Last 4 matches total goals where score: 23. That’s huge number. Everyone knows that Barcelona is playing attacking soccer and they never defend. But Atletico at home as well is playing attacking soccer with 52% matches over. Barcelona on road is with 55% over 2.5 matches. Both teams are in good form with scoring. But most important fact is that Barcelona is without key defenders and some juniors will get a start today. This is huge opportunity for Atletico to win, but they will sure need to score at least 2 goals if not even more.

AS Bari

PICK WON

3 of 4 times when Bari come to Cagliari it was over 2.5 goals match. Last match finished 2-1. Cagliari is under team at home, only 39% time they play over 2.5. Bari on road is over team with 51%. But recent form present that both teams are scoring, Bari scored 8 goals in last 5. Cagliari have score 7 goals in last 5. But most important facts for this over are missing defenders in both teams. Cagliari is having real trouble in central defense, both first team defenders are out and even some substitutes are not ready. Goalkeepers will not be ready as well.

Athletic Bilbao

PICK LOST

Both of this teams are in good shape on table, Bilbao is in a position to get into Europe zone. Bad thing for our pick is that Bilbao didn’t win at Villarreal from 2005 and since then lost 5 times in row. But recent form indicate that Villarreal is in trouble, they recently change a coach but positive shock didn’t happen and they lost at Mallorca. On other side Bilbao is in good shape, 2 wins, draw and 2 loses in last 5. All together this do not sound good, but main reason and key reason why Bilbao not to lose at Villarreal is good bet injuries troubles at ESPN say: “Athletic will be favorites against a depleted Villarreal side who are also lacking in confidence as they continue to slide down the table.”, so odds are representing HUGE value. Missing players from Villarreal: Diego Lopez, Joan Capdevila, Joseba Llorente, Bruno Soriano.
