PostHeaderIcon 2010 World Cup Betting – One South American Team Goes Home On Friday

2010 World Cup betting has been dominated by South America, who have four of five teams left in the tournament (Chile was eliminated by Brazil in an all-South American matchup in the last round).  On Friday, only one of them will end up going on to the semifinals.

Netherlands Brazil Betting – Friday, 10:00 AM ET

Five-time champion Brazil is the +120 favorite in this contest if you’re betting on soccer, while the Dutch are listed at +320, and a draw comes in at +240.  The Samba Kings rolled to a stylish 3-0 win over Chile, but this isn’t the all-out attacking team that most people are used to seeing from Brazil.  Furthermore, Elano, one of their best playmakers will miss this match with an ankle injury, along with Felipe Melo.  The Dutch have a clean bill of health, and in their 2-1 win over Slovakia, Arjen Robben showed that he’s fully healthy with another brilliant performance.  Robin van Persie has sparked rumors of unrest after complaining of being subbed against Slovakia, and this is nothing new in the Dutch camp, but this Holland group looks to be strong enough to put that behind them.  Brazil has won three and drawn four of their nine meetings with the Dutch, eliminating them in 1994 and 1998.  But the Dutch are unbeaten in their last 23 matches, and they’re well worth a World Cup betting selection for the upset here.

Uruguay Ghana Betting – Friday, 2:30 PM ET

Uruguay is favored in this World Cup finals betting contest at -105, while Ghana is listed at +275, and a draw is rated at +220.  Luis Suarez scored a pair in the 2-1 win over South Korea in the last round, and the duo of Suarez and Diego Forlan may be the most in-form strike pair at the World Cup right now.  However, they suffered a massive blow at the back with the news that defender Diego Godin will miss this match with a thigh problem, and that’s tough for a side that has allowed just one goal in the tournament so far.  Ghana needed extra time to beat the United States 2-1, and again it was Asamoah Gyan who scored the crucial goal for the Black Stars.  Gyan suffered an ankle knock in training leading up to this match, so keep an eye on how he’s moving around the pitch as he’s proven to be Ghana’s biggest goal-scoring threat.  This is the first meeting for these two countries, and Ghana’s looking to hit the Uruguayans on the counterattack, but with Gyan at less than 100%, can they do it?  We’re going with Uruguay in our sports betting picks.

PostHeaderIcon Brazil/Chile (Over 2.5) – 2.01

Chile flagBrazil is playing great soccer, they know how to find a net. With many great scorers I m pretty sure that they will score today. But I m even more sure that Chile will score, Bielsa will go out attacking the Brazil, they will attack them high and I m pretty sure that Chile will score first. With many players missing in Chile defense Brazil counter attacks will sure get some goals. As well Brazil defense is not so good. And if Brazil score first, don’t think that Chile will not give everything to score.

PICK WON

With a win Chile will be in the last 16. That is the reason why Marcelo Bielsa known as El Loco will play with 3 strikers to win today. Switzerland will defend just like they defend against Spain. Sanderos is out and Frei is ready but will be on bench. Chile top scorer Suazo will have hes debut on World Cup in South Africa. Chile will do everything to win against Switzerland and to qualify for next stage. Chile won against Honduras and they show good attacking soccer. Switzerland beat Spain with they defensive style of play and i doubt they can repeat this again.

PICK LOST

Portugal and Bosnia and Herzegovina maybe play 1-0 in Portugal, but who watched the match have see that there where many opportunities to score on both sides. Today game will just open wide, Bosnia need to score and will score since Dzeko rarely don’t score 2 times in row. As well there are some injuries in defense lines for both teams and this will just give a boost to over 2.5 goals. Bosnia have more problems in back, but as well Portugal have some troubles in midfield, Deco is out.
