Queens Park Rangers

Sunday, May 13, 10:00 ET

Manchester City Seeks Premiership Title with Win

As Spring begins, there is plenty of sports action daily which means fans have lots of opportunities in sports and plenty of chances for sports betting to take up. The NBA and hockey near the final stretch, so stay up to date with all the action and NHL scores, while baseball is just beginning with more opportunities for <a

As well, look to sportsbook reviews for even more information on this sporting season.

There is plenty of soccer action still going on in Europe, with the English Premiership taking centre stage this weekend as the season comes to a dramatic conclusion. Clubs battle at both ends of the table, and one notable match in particular features two teams at opposites ends, as Queens Park Rangers try and avoid relegation, while Manchester City will win the league with three points.

City sits in first place with one game remaining, having won 27 games, including two over second placed Manchester United. Both clubs have 86 points, but City owns the tiebreaker in goal differential, and a win for them this weekend ensures them the title.

It looks very likely they will indeed win the title as they play at home where they have not lost a match all year. They have 17 wins in 18 home matches, with a lone drawn. They have 52 goals for which is nearly three per game, and have allowed just 10 goals against, by far the lowest of any team in the league.

Their opponent is lowly QPR, a club sitting in 17th position, two points out of the relegation zone. A draw for Rangers would guarantee them safety, but a loss paired with a Bolton Wanderers victory would see them fall into the drop zone.

They are not thinking about a loss, though, as QPR is primed to upset Manchester City and deny them the title. QPR played them well earlier in the season at home, taking an early lead and later rallying in the second to tie the game at two all before Yaya Toure scored a late goal to win it for City.

Still, Rangers have just three wins on the road and one draw to go with 13 losses. They have lost six straight road games, and have been outscored on the season 38-17.

Betting lines: Manchester City is the huge favourite and rightly so. They are at home where they have been dominant, and are playing a bad team that is even worse on the road. With the title almost in their grasps, City will not lose focus. They will get ahead early and win big, taking the Championship with a 5-0 route of QPR.

Newcastle United v. Clubs are battling it out at all parts of the table, as some look to avoid relegation while others are seeking tournament bids next season. Both Manchester City and Newcastle United have high expectations with just two games to go, and the two face off this weekend in a very important match.

Coming off the biggest victory of the season, in which they overtook Manchester United for first place in the Premiership and now control their own destiny, Manchester City takes to the road for a tough match and tries to hold on to their title. A 1-0 home win gave both City and United 83 points, but City beat United twice and has a better goal differential. Both clubs have two games left, but City now goes to the road where they have suffered all five of their losses this season and four of their five draws.

Their opponent is impressive Newcastle United, who currently sits in fifth position with 19 wins and 65 points. They are behind Tottenham’s 65 points due to goal differential, and one point behind third place Arsenal with 66 points. All three clubs are seeking Champions League play next season, and all have just two games to go.

After a surprise loss at lowly Wigan Athletic, Newcastle rebounded beating tired Chelsea on the road to move up on the table. The 2-0 victory was their fifth shut out in six games, and sets them up for a tough home match against City.

Newcastle have won four in a row at home and have not allowed a goal in any of those matches. They have just two losses at home all year, and have allowed just 15 goals in 18 matches. When the two clubs played earlier in the season at City, Manchester won 3-1, but on the road, City is weaker.

Betting lines: City is the slight favourite, as they are the better team and have much to play for, but Newcastle is not going to be pushed over. They are great at home and escept for a small blight, have played great lately. Look for a tough match, with Newcastle upsetting City and sending them home with a 1-0 loss.

Chelsea v. Clubs are battling it out at all parts of the table, as some look to avoid relegation while others are seeking tournament bids next season. Three clubs are battling for one spot as the season winds down, and two of them face off mid week in a very key match.

Chelsea sits in sixth position, one point out a bid for the Champions League next season, as they try to catch Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur just ahead of them. Chelsea has 61 points, while the other two clubs sit at 62, but it is Newcastle that takes to the road this week to face off against Chelsea.

The Blue have done well of late, earning a spot in the finals of the Champions League after beating Barcelona; they will go on to face Bayern Munich. In the Premiership, meanwhile, they have not lost in six straight matches, and followed up their match against Barca with a 6-1 route of Queens Park Rangers in league action.

With three games to go, they have a shot to move up into fourth position, and face one of the top foes this week. They are at home where they have earned 11 of their 17 victories on the year, and have only three losses to their name, outscoring their opponents by a 39-21 margin.

Newcastle United, meanwhile, has seven wins on the road, but seven losses as well, allowed 31 goals to opponents while scoring just 24. What’s more, they are coming in off an embarrassing 4-0 loss to lowly Wigan Athletic on the road, a game that they should have been far more competitive in.

Prior to the match, Newcastle had not allowed a goal in four straight games, and just one in their last six. It was the first time they were shut out on the road in over two months. The two cluibs met earlier in the season at Newcastle, and Chelsea prevailed, winning 3-0.

Betting lines: Chelsea is the clear favourite, and rightly so. They are playing their best football of the season right now, while Newcastle still shows inconsistency. Chelsea is playing at home as well, where they have played great of late. They will win over Newcastle once more, 2-0.

Manchester City v. Clubs are battling it out at all parts of the table, as some look to avoid relegation while others are seeking tournament bids next season. The top two clubs face off on Monday in primetime with the Premiership title hanging in the balance.

The stage is set for the two clubs from Manchester to battle it out in what could determine which team finishes on top at the end of the season. City was in first for much of the season, but struggles last month allowed for United to surpass them, extended their lead by so much as eight points. But a couple draws and a loss, paired with tough wins by City, has closed the gap to three points.

City will host United with a chance to earn three points in a win, draw into a tie for points, and enter first with the tie breaker. City has yet to lose at home this season, with a lone draw the only blemish on their home card. They have 16 wins, scored 51 goals, and allowed only 10. The total home goals is more than most clubs have scored all season.

The draw happened just a month ago however, allowing Sunderland to play to a 3-3 tie. City followed that up with a loss to Arsenal, but since then has won three straight by a combined score of 12-1.

Manchester United, meanwhile, has 12 wins on the road and just two losses, scoring 36 goals while allowing just 13. A draw to Everton last week saw United lose two valuable points and make this match with City far more significant. Should United loss at City, they can look to the final 10 minutes of play against Everton at home where they conceded two goals to allow for a draw.

They will have to look ahead though and focus if they are to give City their first home loss all year. The two clubs met earlier in the season at United, and City routed the club 6-1.

Betting lines: At home City is favourite, and rightly so. They have been near perfect at home this year, and will be playing for the Premiership title on the line. Still, United have to play to a draw to maintain a three point lead while City is desperate for the win. Both teams have great offenses, but look for defense to lead the way. United upset City and will take the Premiership, winning 1-0.

Stoke City v. Clubs are battling it out at all parts of the table, as some look to avoid relegation while others are seeking tournament bids next season. One of the best clubs in the league looks to hold on to their Champions League bid and third place spot as they take to road to face Stoke City.

Arsenal is in third position currently, the highest they can go to finish the season, but are feeling much pressure behind them as they fight for their automatic Champions League spot. With three games to go, the Gunners have 20 wins, five draws, and 65 points on the year, three more than Newcastle United, but they have a game in hand on Arsenal. Tottenham is still within reach six points back, also with a game in hand.

The Gunners will play on the road where they have eight wins but seven losses, having scored 31 goals to their opponent’s 29. However, they have won four of their last five away games, losing just once to Queens Park Rangers. Even with that game, Arsenal has allowed just four goals in that span.

Their opponent is Stoke City, a club in 14th position but still with a chance to break into the top ten before the season concludes. They have four games remaining, with 11 wins on the year and 42 points. Two clubs are ahead of them by a single point, West Bromwich is in 10th with 45 points, and two more clubs are just four points ahead in the tightly packed middle of the table.

Stoke return home after two games on the road where they earned just one point and scored just one goal. They have played just two home games in their last seven matches, but one of those was against powerhouse Manchester City, where they earned a draw.

The two clubs met earlier in the season at Arsenal where the Gunners prevailed 3-1.

Betting lines: Arsenal is favoured even on the road, but Stoke City is better than their position shows. Gunners have faltered at times on the road, and Stoke will be excited to reutnr home for a match. They have played well in front of their fans against top teams, and look to do so again, upsetting Arsenal with a 1-1 draw.

Manchester United v. Clubs are battling it out at all parts of the table, as some look to avoid relegation while others are seeking tournament bids next season. The best club in the league looks to hold on to their first placed position and possibly extend their lead, as Manchester United host Everton.

With four games to go, Manchester United remains in first place in the English Premiership, looking to hold on or extend their lead this weekend before a big tilt against their closest opponent, Manchester City.

United has 26 wins and 82 points, five more than second place City, the only club keeping them from celebrating a championship already. United had a chance to run away with league a couple weeks ago, at one point earning an eight point advantage that could have been sealed with a victory next week over City. But a loss to Wigan Athletic on the road narrowed the gap to five points, giving City a slim chance.

They rebounded at home beating Aston Villa 4-0. United now have four straight shutout victories at home, bringing their home total to 14 wins to go with only one draw and two losses. They have outscored their opponents 46-15 at home this season. Their dominance at home has been for much the new, as they have not lost in seven straight matches, allowing just one goal in that span since December 31.

United will host Everton, the seventh place club with 13 wins and 38 total goals on the season, far less than what United has in half the games just at home. With 47 points, Everton is looking to stay on track and finish in the top ten ahead of Liverpool and Sunderland.

They have not lost in their last four games, winning three and drawing one in that span. They have been good on the road as well, winning five matches and drawing five.

The two clubs played earlier in the season at Everton, with United triumphing on the road, winning 1-0.

Betting lines: At home Manchester United is the clear favourite. The only question is how much will they win by, and will Everton make it on the score sheet. United won’t falter by looking ahead to their match with City, as they win big, 3-0 at home.

Arsenal and Chelsea Battle to Stay in Top Tier

Special Previews
<guid

The final stretch of the season nears, and clubs are scrambling for precious points and separation in a tightly packed table. This weeked features a match with the two of the best and most popular clubs in the league, as Arsenal takes on Chelsea.

With just a handful of games left, Arsenal looks to hold on to their third place position while Chelsea desperately seeks to return to the top four. With 20 wins and 64 points, Arsenal is solely in third place, 13 points behind Manchester City as it and United battle for the top spot. They cannot sit easy, however, as five points back are both Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United.

In sixth position, with 16 wins and 57 points, is Chelsea. They need three points to move into fourth and earn a bid for the Champions League next season, an imperative goal for the prideful and storied club.

To get three points they will need to win on the road, something they have done six times this season. With that they have six draws and five loses away from home, scoring 23 goals while allowing 18. They have been on the road in their last two matches, one a Premiership draw against Fulham, and the other an FA Cup rout of Tottenham, 5-1.

Chelsea have not lost in four straight games, and not lost in their last two away matches.

The Gunners, on the other hand, look to avenge a stunning loss at home to lowly Wigan Athletic, 2-1. Prone to overlooking lowly opponents, losing to QPR of late as well, Arsenal is in danger of falling back to the rest of the pack with a loss.

The two clubs played earlier in the season in a wild match that saw eight total goals and four second half scores by the Gunners as Arsenal won on the road, 5-3.

Betting lines: Arsenal at home is the favourite, and rightly so. They are a solid club at home despite their recent loss, a match in which they were clearly overlooking for Chelsea. Still, the Blues are desperate and play well away from home. Look for a close match here that ends in a 1-1 draw.

Norwich City v. Clubs are battling it out at all parts of the table, as some look to avoid relegation while others are seeking tournament bids next season. The race for championship is still up for grabs, as Manchester City and Manchester United battle it out for the final precious points. This weekend City looks to gain ground and solve their road woes as they travel to take on Norwich City.

A City win and a United loss helped close the gap between first and second, as City now has 74 points to United’s 79, with five games to go. City try to continue to put pressure on, looking for their 24th win of the season, but only eighth on the road.

All of their five losses this year, and four of their five draws, have come on the road. They have scored 28 goals for and allowed 16 of their 26 total goals against this season, but have struggled greatly of late.

They have not won on the road in their last three matches, losing two of them and scoring just one goal over those three games. In their last ten road games, they have lost five, and scored just a total of five goals, never scoring more than one. They dropped their most recent road game to Arsenal, 1-0, but rebounded at home, routing West Bromwich by a 4-0 count.

Their opponent this week is middling Norwich City, a club sitting in 10th position with 11 wins and 43 points. They have won six matches at home, while drawing six and losing just four. While scoring 25 goals in those matches, however, they have allowed 21. They return home after a big upset on the road against Tottenham Hotspur, winning 2-1 and disrupting their plans of staying in the top tier. They will look to do the same against another powerhouse hopeful, with the home crowd to their advantage.

The two clubs met earlier in the season at City, as Manchester beat Norwich convincingly, 5-1.

Betting lines: On the road City favoured, but their recent problems away from home are cause for concern. Still, they’ve seem to rebounded and while the game will not be a blowout, City will come out on top, winning 2-0.

Manchester City v. In addition, look to sportsbook reviews for addition information during this exciting time for sports.

This week also features plenty of soccer action, as the English Premiership and the top leagues around the world start to wind down. The final stretch of the season nears, and clubs are scrambling for precious points and separation in a tightly packed table. This weekend features a match between two teams going in opposite directions, but both of which are desperate for points as Manchester City hosts Wigan Athletic.

For much of the year City found themselves in the top spot in the league, looking to cruise to an easy championship. Stumbling over the last month, however, has seen City fall into second as United takes top spot. There are only a handful of matches left, including a bout between both clubs, but City needs to get three points in every contest to hope to regain first.

The distance seems to keep getting bigger however, as City now has 72 points, seven back of United. They have not won in their last three matches, earning just two points. The most recent game ended in a 1-0 loss to Arsenal, further dashing their championship hopes.

They return home however where they have been dominant all year, save for one blight, a 3-3 draw to Sunderland in their most recent home match. Despite that draw, City have still won 15 home matches and have not lost once, outscoring their opponents by an incredible 47-10 margin.

Their opponent this week is one of many teams battling it out in the middle of the table with the opportunity to finish either above or below 10th position. West Bromwich Albion has 11 wins and 39 points, good for 13th position. Stoke and Sunderland are just one win ahead at 42 points, with two more clubs only four points ahead as well.

Bromwich ended a short two-game skid with a 3-0 home victory against lowly Blackburn Rovers, and will look to build on it as they take to the road. They are, in fact, a better team on the road than they are at home, winning six matches and drawing four, scoring 21 goals in the process.

The two clubs played to a scoreless draw earlier in the season.

Betting lines: Manchester City is the clear favourite in this match as they host a mediocre team in one of the most hostile places in the country. City will not suffer another blight this season and will need every point available to hope to catch United. City win big at home, reasserting their dominance, 4-0.

City and Gunners Battle Atop the Table

Special Previews
<guid

The English Premiership carries on and nears the final stretch. This weekend features a match of two of the best teams in the league battling for position at the top of the table, as Arsenal hosts Manchester City.

With two surprising draws in a row, Manchester City, the club that for most of the season remained in first position, has fallen back now more than a game out of the top spot, with 71 points in second place to Manchester United’s 76.

City’s perfect home record suffered it’s first blight, earning a draw at home against Sunderland. Not only did they allowed three goals, falling behind 1-0 and then 3-1—they only allowed seven home goals against all season prior—but City lost two valuable points in the draw to fall further back into second.

City still has a home match against United, but with seven games to go, even that does not guarantee an opportunity to overtake first. They will need to go on the road and earn three points against a very tough Arsenal team. Sitting back in third with 58 points, battling with fourth place Tottenham Hotspur, the Gunners will looked for their 19th win of the season, and 12th at home.

Arsenal has lost only twice at home all season, scoring 34 goals for while allowing just 12. They suffered their first letdown in some time, losing on the road to QPR after winning seven straight Premiership matches. They return home however where they have won four in a row.

City, meanwhile, has won just one of their last four road matches, a stretch that include two losses and only two goals for. In fact, they have just five goals for in their last nine road matches, getting shut out four times in that span.

The two clubs met earlier in the season as Arsenal fell at Manchester City 1-0.

Betting lines: City is still the slight favourite, but Arsenal is solid at home and City has been struggling of late. Look for this to be another low scoring game, with Arsenal coming out on top and dealing a blow to City’s title hope, winning 1-0.
