In addition, look to sportsbook reviews for addition information during the dramatic season of sports.

This weekend features a full slate of soccer action, with the top leagues around Europe playing, and Premiership action in full swing. Arsenal, a perennially strong club with high aspirations, looks to return to the top five of the Premiership Table with a home win this week as they host lowly Blackburn Rovers.

For the first time in quite a long time, Arsenal is not in one of the top five spots in the Premier League. An unfortunate loss, combined with victories from several other teams, sees them in seventh position. They have 37 points and have fallen as far as they will be able to go for some time, with several times behind them with no more than 30 points.

So they will begin to rack up wins and points once more, as they look to overtake Liverpool in sixth position with 38 points, Newcastle in fifth with 39 points, and Chelsea in fourth with 42 points. Arsenal have 39 goals on the season, but have allowed 33, and their lack of defense on the road has contributed to their recent downfall.

The Gunners have not won in four games and only just broke a three-game losing streak with a scoreless draw at lowly Bolton Wanderers. They have just one victory in their last six matches, but will try to get their second as they host Blackburn. The Gunners played three of four of the road, and their only home game in that span was against Manchester City, to whom they lost 2-1.

Still, Blackburn could be the cure for what ails Arsenal, as the club sits in 18th position with just four victories and 18 points. Blackburn is in the relegation zone, and two points away from surpassing Bolton. Of their four wins this year, only one has come on the road, but all six of their draws have come on the road as well. While they have 17 goals for away from home, they have allowed 23 against.

The two clubs met earlier in the season in a very exciting match, one that saw Blackburn prevail at home by a score of 4-3.

Betting lines: Despite recent struggles and an early loss to Blackburn, Arsenal is the big favourite and rightly so. They are at home and one of the best clubs in the league playing one of the consistently bad clubs. Gunners regain their footing and win big.

Aston Villa v Queens Park Rangers Preview

Special Previews
<guid

In addition, look to sportsbook reviews for addition information during the dramatic season of sports.

This weekend features a full slate of soccer action, with the top leagues around Europe playing, and Premiership action in full swing. Aston Villa, a perennially strong club with high aspirations, looks to enter the top half of the Premiership Table with a home win this week as they host lowly Queens Park Rangers.

Villa currently sits in 11th position through 22 matches, winning six times while drawing nine and losing seven. Their 27 points puts them in a tie with Sunderland who has 10th position on a tiebreaker. Norwich City is two points ahead in ninth position, while Stoke City is also within striking distance with 30 points in eighth.

While those three clubs can all be surpassed or caught with a victory, a loss could see other clubs pass Villa and drop them further down. Fulham, Swansea City, and Everton are all one point behind Aston Villa, and West Bromwich Albion, back in 15th position, is just two points behind.

Villa have not been particularly great at home, winning just three times while drawing three times and losing five matches. They have scored only 12 goals at home, less than half their season total, and have allowed 14 goals against.

They will still have the edge, however, as they play lowly Queens Park Rangers, a club that entered the Premiership on promotion this season, and one that has just five wins and five draws to go with 12 losses this year. They have been outscored 37-22 on the season, and 19-10 on the road. Away from home the club has just three victories and one draw to go with seven loses.

Still, QPR should be spurred by the signing of Lazio striker Djibril Cisse, as they look to win their second Premiership match in a row as they enter coming off a victory over Wigan Athletic.

Betting lines: At home Aston Villa is the clear favourite, and it makes sense. They get the home-field edge, won more games, and played well recently. However, QPR is a young team and can play well on the road at times. Despite being separated by many positions on the table, these two teams are similar and match up well. Look for the slight upset as QPR earns a rare road point in a draw.

Swansea City v. In addition, look to sportsbook reviews for addition information during the dramatic season of sports.

There is plenty of soccer action still going on this winter as the top flight of leagues in Europe continue their play, and tournament play continues this week. The English Premiership returns this weekend after a short break, and Chelsea looks to continue their surge up the table as one of the hottest clubs in the league as they travel to visit the struggling club from Swansea City.

Sitting in fourth place for much of the last month, Chelsea continue to try to gain ground on Tottenham Hotspur, the closest club sitting in third position. Behind them is Arsenal in fifth, but the Gunners along with Newcastle United both have 36 points.

They have 12 wins on the year to go with five draws and five losses, and are fourth in the league in scoring with 40 goals while allowing 25 on the season.

On the road Chelsea have found ways to earn points, losing just twice all season. They have five wins and four draws away from home, scoring 16 goals in the process while allowing just nine all year. They will be playing on the road as they are hosted by Swansea City, a club that this season was promoted to the English Premiership.

Swansea City sit in 13th position after falling of late. They have six wins and eight draws, but eight losses puts them at 26 points. Four teams are within three points of them, so Swansea have a chance to move up some spots with a win, but a loss could see them fall back even farther as the bottom half of the table remains bunched up.

After surprising Arsenal at home, winning 3-2 against the Gunners, Swansea let down on the road as they fell to Sunderland 2-0. They had gone four games without a loss, winning two and drawing two , but they continue to struggle to score. Aside from the three goals against Arsenal, Swansea have been shut out in eight of their last 11 games, and scored two goals in a match just twice.

Betting lines: Chelsea are the clear favourites, even on the road. Swansea is at home where they upset the Gunners, but Chelsea will not overlook the young team and suffer the same fate. Look for the Blues to come out strong and get a hard-earned three points in a 2-1 victory.

Bolton Wanderers v. The English Premiership returns this weekend after a short break, and Liverpool looks to continue their surge up the table as one of the hottest clubs in the league as they travel to visit lowly Bolton Wanderers.

Liverpool have been coming very close to cracking the top tier of five clubs over the last few weeks, and currently find themselves in seventh pool through 21 games. They have nine wins and eight draws, a total good for 35 points.

They have distanced themselves from clubs behind them, maintaining a five point lead on eighth place Stoke City. As well, Liverpool have moved close to the top once more, just a point behind Newcastle United and Arsenal, the two clubs occupying fifth and fourth position respectively.

They take to the road where they have played decent this average with a weak offense but tough defense. They have allowed just 10 goals while scoring 10 goals, and have won four games, drawn one, and lost five.

Their opponent this week is lowly Bolton Wanderers, a club that has been stuck in the relegation zone for months now and is desperate to get out. They have five wins on the year, but just one draw. They have one of the worst back ends in the league, allowing a Premiership-high 46 goals in 21 matches. They have scored 25 on the year, but only 11 at home.

Surprisingly, Bolton has played much better on the road than at home, where they have won just one time. They have drawn once at home as well, but have lost eight, allowing another league high 24 goals against at home.

While they are coming off a win in FA Cup action, Bolton lost in their last Premiership match, falling to powerhouse Manchester United 3-0 on the road. They return home where in their last match they earned a 1-1 draw against equally anemic Wolverhampton.

Betting lines: Liverpool is the clear favourite, even on the road. Bolton has struggled all year long, especially at home, and now they host a hungry Liverpool club that is looking to break into the top tier.

Fulham v. One of the hottest teams in the league, Newcastle, looks to continue their second half surge up the table and move closer to the top tier as they travel to Fulham to take on the Cottagers.

After stumbling in the late fall, Newcastle looks to have returned to their winning ways that defined them so early in the season. They were one of the last teams in the league to suffer a loss, but once that defeat came, they were unable to get back on track. Now, however, Newcastle United have moved up to sixth position and are knock on the door of the top tier of clubs.

Through 21 matches they have earned 10 wins and six draws, good for 36 points; just as many as fifth place Arsenal. Just ahead of both clubs sits Chelsea within reach at 40 points. Behind Newcastle, however, sits Liverpool with 35 points, another club that has been experiencing a surge of late.

Newcastle take to the road where they have four wins, three draws, and only three losses. They have scored as many goals as they have allowed: 14. They have, however, lost three of their last five on the road, winning just once.

Part of their recent surge, however, which has seen them win three of four, is their defense and goalkeeping. In those three wins they did not allow a single goal. Yet, in their last three losses, they allowed a total of 10 goals.

Their opponent this week is Fulham, a club sitting in 14th position with 23 points sitting amid many other inconsistent clubs. A win could move them up a few spots, but a loss could see others pass them as they slip dangerously close to the relegation zone.

Of their five wins on the season, four have come at home. They have scored 16 goals while allowing 15 playing in Fulham. They are coming off a 3-1 road loss to lowly Blackburn, but have won three of their last four at home, outscoring their opponents by a combined 5-1.

Betting lines: On the road Newcastle is the favourite and rightly so. They are surging while Fulham is inconsistent. Newcastle should win easily as they look to move into the top tier of clubs.

Liverpool v. One of the hottest teams in the league, Liverpool, looks to continue their second half surge up the table and move closer to the top tier as they play at home and host Stoke City this weekend.

Liverpool currently sits just outside the top five, in sixth position with nine wins, seven draws, and just four losses. Their 34 points puts them two back of fifth place Arsenal, and three back of fourth place Chelsea. Hot on their heels, however, is seventh place Newcastle United, sitting back with one fewer point.

They will look to put more pressure on the top teams as they host eighth place Stoke City. Coming in with eight wins and five draws, Stoke City have 29 points and are securely in the top half of the table for at least this weekend. They are four points ahead of the next closest team, but also four points behind Newcastle.

Stoke will have a tough task ahead of them as they play Liverpool on the road, one of only two clubs in the league who have yet to loss at home. While Liverpool only has four home victories, they have six draws and no losses. They have allowed just eight goals in those matches, while scoring 14.

Stoke, however, have played well on the road this season. They have four victories and five losses on the road. The victories have been close, and the losses have been blowouts, as they have scored just eight goals while allowing 20.

Liverpool have been playing a lot of football lately, competing in the Carling Cup as well as the FA Cup. After a tough 3-0 loss in Premiership action to top club Manchester City, they rebounded to beat them 1-0 in Carling action. That Premiership loss ended a five-game unbeaten streak that saw Liverpool outscore their opponents by a combined 7-2. They have shut out their opponents seven times this season.

Betting lines: At home, Liverpool is the favourite, and rightly so. They have been playing great of late as they continue to move up the table. Still, Stoke will put up a tough fight, and they will stay in the match against Liverpool’s less powerful offense. Look for the clubs to play even, an Stoke to surprise Liverpool and earn a draw.

Chelsea v. Two teams in the top half of the league, including powerhouse Chelsea, do battle as both look to gain ground.

Sitting in fourth position with 20 games in the books, Chelsea has a great opportunity to gain ground on the top three: Manchester City, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur. They have 11 wins and 37 points, and are five points behind third place Tottenham while only one points ahead of fifth place Arsenal.

A recent stunning home loss to Aston Villa still haunts Chelsea as they lost ground, but they rebounded on the road against Wolves in their most recent Premiership match. They will look to start a winning streak as they host Sunderland.

At home this season Chelsea have played well, winning six, drawing one, while losing three. Though they have scored 23 times in those matches, they have allowed a staggering 16 goals, while allowing much fewer on the road.

Their opponent, Sunderland, meanwhile, sit right in 10th position with six wins and six draws and eight losses. They have scored 27 goals while allowed 23, and have played decent on the road. They will seek their fourth road win while trying to avoid their sixth loss away from home. They come into the match on a four game unbeaten streak, a stretch that includes a very impressive 1-0 home victory over mighty Manchester City.

Sunderland also have two straight road victories, including one in their most recent match, a 4-1 triumph over Wigan Athletic. Though they have been plagued by injuries, Sunderland scored four times from four different players, and will bring that offense to Chelsea, a club that allowed more than one goal in a match only three times this entire Premiership season.

Betting lines: At home Chelsea is the clear favourite, and rightly so. They have much higher in the table and have played more consistently throughout the season. Sunderland, however, is the hotter team and has played better over the last month than Chelsea. They’ve already upset a great team in City, and have a great chance to do so again. Sunderland will visit Chelsea and earn the upset draw, 1-1.

Tottenham Hotspur v. The English Premiership is off this weekend but returns midweek for a very exciting matchup as surging Tottenham Hotspur host opportunistic Everton.

Tottenham has quietly moved into third place in the table behind powerhouses Manchester City and Manchester United. Through 19 games they have 13 victories, three draws, and only three losses, and have earned 42 points on the season. They have one game in hand on the clubs around them, and three points in a victory would put them at 45 points in a tie with United and one victory behind City.

To do so they must beat Everton, a club that has struggled recently and fallen to the bottom half of the table at 11th. They have seven wins on the season but three draws to go with nine losses, and their 24 points put them in the middle of a bunch of clubs. With a great chance to move ahead of several teams, Everton fell at home to lowly Bolton, losing 2-1 despite getting a surprise score from goalkeeper Tim Howard.

Everton have a tough task ahead of them as Tottenham have not been beaten in five straight games, and have not lost at home in eight games. Their only home blemish was their opener against Manchester City. What’s more, they have only one draw at home, and have outscored their opponents by an 18-8 margin while playing in front of their home fans.

Still, on the road this season Everton has played well, winning four times, drawing once, and losing four. They have scored 10 goals while allowing 10, and should play Hotspur close. The recent loss was the first time in nine games that Everton allowed more than one goal. Their problem, however, is that they have not scored more than one goal in six games.

Betting lines: Tottenham Hotspur is the favourite as well they should be. They have been rising fast of late and playing strong defensively. They have struggled against the best teams in the league, but do away with the clubs they should beat. Everton is one of those clubs, and Tottenham will play to victory, winning 2-0.

Newcastle United v. A much anticipated match as two of the best teams in the league face off.

After a very strong start, Newcastle United has cooled off a bit, but with a New Year, they look to return to the top of the table. They currently sit in seventh place on the table through 19 games, and have earned eight wins and six draws to go with five losses.

They were among one of the last teams to lose a game this season, but have since struggled. Newcastle won early in the season on strong defense, a facet of the game that helped their weaker offense. Injuries and fatigue have hurt them, however, and the defense has become porous. They have allowed 25 goals on the season, but have only scored 26.

Stoke City is on their heels just a point behind, but Liverpool has a four point lead and Chelsea is ahead by six points. Still, they have a game in hand on both those clubs and still much of the season to play.

To earn three points they will have to beat one of the best teams in the league. Manchester United sits in second place, with the same record of 14 wins, three draws, and two losses as first place Manchester City. They sit in second due to having lost to City earlier in the season in a rout.

United had played great of late until a New Years Eve upset loss to very lowly Blackburn Rovers at home. Prior to the match United had won five straight games and won three straight without allowing a goal. Their only previous home loss was to City, but Blackburn, the lowest club in the table, prevailed 3-2.

United will take to the road to avenge the loss. Newcastle has four wins at home along with three draws. They have allowed 11 goals while scoring 12. United, meanwhile, have played better on the road than at home. They have not lost on the road and have allowed just three goals while scoring 19.

Betting lies: Manchester United is favoured on the road and rightly so. It is a great time to take a road team to win straight out as Newcastle has struggled and United will look to bounce back from an embarrassing defeat.

Tottenham Hotspur v. In addition, look to sportsbook reviews for addition information during the dramatic season of sports.

This weekend features a full slate of soccer action, with the top leagues around Europe playing, including the English Premiership League featuring some of the best teams in the world. A much anticipated match as two opportunistic clubs make a push for the top tier.

One of the best teams in the league in Tottenham Hotspur looks to stay in the top tier of teams as they play their first game of the New Year at home against lowly West Bromwich Albion.

Tottenham sits in third place in the Premiership, the highest place they have been all year. Even so, they have played the fewest games, 18, of all of the clubs near the top. They have totaled 12 wins with just three losses and three draws, an amount good for 39 points.

They are averaging almost two goals a game, scoring 35 on the season while allowed just 20. At home they are excellent, winning six while losing just one match. They have outscored their opponents by a 17-8 margin in that span.

Hotspur looks to continue that trend as they host West Bromwich United, a club currently in 14th position in the Premiership, looking for their seventh win of the season. They have played 19 games, but drawn just four and have 22 points on the year. Still, three clubs sit ahead of them by one point, another team is at 24, and they can catch up to ninth place Norwich City with a victory and 25 total points.

On the road strangely, West Bromwich has been very good, winning four matches while scoring 12 goals. After putting together two straight victories and then earning a very tough scoreless home draw against Manchester City, West Bromwich fell at home to Everton, 1-0. They have been shut out in their last two games, and will take to the road against a tough defensive club.

Tottenham return home after two games away, and have not lost in four matches after falling on the road to Stoke City. They have allowed just one goal in their last four home matches and have four home shut outs on the season.

Betting lines: At home Tottenham Hotspur is the favourite and rightly so. They have played very well of late but have been overshadowed by the two clubs from Manchester. They will come out strong in the New Year and put up a solid victory, shutting out Bromwich and winning 2-0.
