Toronto FC vs LA Galazy Odds & Preview
For every sports fan out there, plenty of betting exists to satisfy every desire. MLB betting is open as baseball heads towards the summer, while playoffs continue in basketball and hockey. All but one NHL second round series have concluded with three teams decided for the conference finals, and Stanley Cup odds are available as well. Meanwhile, soccer is in full swing in the U.S. with Major League Soccer action every week.
One of the bigger event features two large market teams going head to head as the Toronto FC travel across the continent to visit Los Angeles and face the first place Galaxy. Despite being without all star David Beckham for the entire season as the English leader nurses a ruptured Achilles, the Galaxy have gone unbeaten this season, and are far and ahead in first place. A lone road draw against Kansas City is the only blemish on the Galaxy schedule as the club has won seven of eight games and leads second place Houston by nine points in the Western Conference.
Leading the way for the Galaxy are American all star Landon Donovan, who had three assists in their most recent win over Seattle, and Edson Buddle, who has scored nine of the teams 15 goals.
The Galaxy have outscored their opponents 8-1 in their last three matches, and have allowed only two goals at home in four games. This does not bode well for a TFC team that has struggled on the road all season, going winless in four attempts, netting a mere three goals in those matches.
Despite their road struggles, the Red shirts are in third place in the Eastern Conference with nine points, earning their third home win last week against the Chicago Fire. On offensive show was put on at BMO Field as TFC hit their stride and netted four goals, moving their season total to 11. Dwayne De Rosario leads the team with six as the Reds hope their strong play against Chicago carries over to L.A.
TFC, however, simply have trouble generating offense on the road for whatever reason. In their four road games, all losses, they have been outscored 11-3 and have hardly looked like contenders. The trip to L.A. from Toronto is a long one, and the return flight could feel even longer if they don’t find a solution to their road woes.
Betting Lines: The L.A. Galaxy will be the heavy favourites in this match and with good reason. They are the most dominate team in the league, netting 15 goals in eight games while only allowing two. They have the best players and one of the most boisterous crowds giving them a strong home field advantage. This edge should be more evident as Toronto travels across three time zones to L.A. and has struggled on the road all year. They have yet to record a point, let alone win an away match. Despite their recent impressive victory, look for the Red Shirts to fall to the ever impressive Galaxy in a big way this weekend.
