PostHeaderIcon Tottenham vs Manchester United Odds & Preview

Spring is a great season for sports betting by all sorts of fans.  NHL odds for the playoffs are available, as are Kentucky Derby odds as the big event draws near. Baseball is in full swing, and in basketball, there may be one or two series that go the distance, and so Jazz vs Nuggets odds are something to check out as well.  In Europe, the English Premier Soccer League heads into the final weeks, and also offers some very exciting match ups and a chance to make some winning bets.

Tottenham Hotspur travel to Old Trafford to take on powerhouse Manchester United in a match where both teams are feverishly looking for points. With only a few games remaining, both teams are in a spot where they may not have forecasted in the beginning of the season.

United sits in second behind Chelsea and has been there for a couple weeks since the Blues beat a Rooney-less Reds squad to take top position in the table. Since then United has been fighting to get back at number one, and currently sits a point back of their perennial rival.

Tottenham, meanwhile, has been a surprise this season, and is currently positioned in 4th and in a Champions League qualifying spot.  However, several teams are nearby fighting for the same spot, with Manchester City two points back, Aston Villa three, and Liverpool five points behind.

Hotspur has been playing incredibly well of late, especially considering the stretch of clubs they have had to face. After this weekend, Tottenham will have had three straight league matches against the top three teams, but despite the daunting schedule, it may have a chance to emerge with nine points. Consecutive 2-1 victories over Chelsea and Arsenal have given the club great confidence going into the match against United, and in a position to inch closer to a much coveted Champions League qualifying position.

United top scorer Wayne Rooney returned against Manchester City as the Reds earned a much needed three points. His ankle injury had been very impactful and was illustrated by the hastening of his return. In addition to the loss to Chelsea, United drew against Blackburn. He will be in the lineup against Tottenham, but still may not be 100 per cent.

Betting lines: Manchester United is favoured, and rightly so considering their dominance throughout the season. They have been in the top spots all year long, and have a chance for first position. However, the Spurs have shown they have what it takes to beat the top tier clubs. Their bench is deep and they can play well as underdogs. They were not favoured against Chelsea or Arsenal, and upset them both. They are on a hot streak, and despite United’s formidable home record, look for the Spurs to complete a sweep of the top three teams and snatch a victory at Old Trafford.
