Kansas City will look to use their home field advantage to gain another three points this week, as they have won six matches at home and have only lost three all season. While they have only scored 12 goals at home, compared to 16 on the road, they have only allowed seven against.
They will host a conference foe that sits in fourth position in DC United. With 11 wins on the season and three draws, DC United have earned 36 points, but have a pair of games in hand on the three teams ahead of them in the standings. Still, their road play has been questionable, winning just three times all season, scoring 11 goals on the road while allowing 18.
Kansas City will look to build on a 1-0 road win and try to generate more offense. They have scored just two goals at home in their last four matches, winning just one of those matches. Though scoring just 12 goals in 11 home matches, Kansas City has only allowed seven.
Betting lines: At home Kansas City is the favourite and rightly so. They play tight defense, and DC United has trouble scoring away from home. Look for a very even match, with Sporting Kansas City getting a late goal to win the game, 1-0.
