TFC Seeks Rare Home Win

As Summer nears, there is plenty of sports action daily which means fans have lots of opportunities in sports and plenty of chances for sports betting  to take up.  The NBA is in the final stage of the season, so stay up to date with all the action and NBA scores,  while  baseball is just in full swing with more opportunities for online betting. Though the Champions League and Premiership have come to end, in North America soccer action is just heating up. There is plenty of Major League Soccer play to enjoy while World Cup Qualifiers and international friendlies take place every week, and as well the Euro Cup heads into the next round.

In North America, however, action is heating up in Major League Soccer, with this weekend featuring a full slate of matches including one that features an eastern conference matchup of two clubs looking to move up the standings.

The Toronto FC have been one of the most dreadful clubs all year long, but seem to be experiencing some sort of revitalization of late, earning points here and there as they continue on through the halfway point of the year and try to not finish as they horrendous team that they began as.

The club from Ontario has a pathetic eight points on the year through 13 games, but five points have come in the last three games, and all of them in the last five. After losing their first nine matches of the year, many of them by just a goal, TFC beat Philadelphia at home. After a road loss, TFC rebounded to draw Houston and New England, and earn their first road win of the year, besting Montreal 3-0.

While these points have come against lowly opponents, they are still points, and may help to get Toronto out of the basement of the MLS. They will face a much tougher opponent this week as they host the New York Red Bulls.

Toronto will be at home which may give them a slight advantage, but not much. New York sits in third position in the eastern conference through 15 games with a total of 27 points, just one win shy of first place in the conference. They have eight victories, four of which surprisingly have come on the road. They also have four losses on the road, but have only lost once on the road in their last five matches.

Betting lines: Despite Toronto’s resurgence, they are still the heavy underdogs. They have been earning points against weaker teams, but now they face a New York club with very high hopes. The Red Bulls win big, 3-0.
